An organic Benifuuki from Kagoshima with an intense, tart profile
Benifuuki No. 2 brings a straightforward Japanese green tea to your cup: intense, tart, and clear in expression. The 50 g pack is a great fit if you are looking for a tea that does not feel softened, but shows a present green edge.
On the palate, it shows pronounced tartness, subtle bitter notes, and a hint reminiscent of artichoke. Added to that is an earthy mouthfeel that gives the tea more depth without making it feel heavy.
The tea comes from Kagoshima, an important tea region in southern Japan. It is harvested as Nibancha, i.e., in the second harvest period in summer; this harvest time suits a more direct, more intense green tea profile.
The leaves were grown unshaded and processed as Irimushi, an ultra-high-heat processing method. Organic certification is clearly confirmed here: DE-ÖKO-013.
